The Christianity Today article below is both heart
breaking and motivating.
It is certainly heartbreaking to read of so many
Christians suffering so much all around the world.
The introduction sets the tone:
“2014 was the world's worst year for the persecution of
Christians in the modern era. Until 2015 surpassed it.”
At the same time the article is also motivating, or should
be. As we read we should be motivated
to:
1. Remember those
who are suffering and do what we can to help (Hebrews 13:3).
2. Become more
bold to share the gospel ourselves without fear (Philippians 1:14).
3. Remember the
example of our Lord, who suffered for us and calls us to suffer for him (Matthew
16:24; Romans 8:17; 1 Peter 4:13)
