God Bless America (a prayer on the 4th of July)

God bless America.

We don’t deserve Your blessing.

We haven’t earned it.

But believing in Your grace, we humbly ask for it.

God bless America.

Bless us by pouring out Your Spirit with new power for Your people.

Bless us with repentance.

Bless us with a new awakening

Bless us with revival.

God bless America.

Bless Your church here.

Strengthen us for Your work.

Fill us with Your Spirit.

Guide us by Your Word.

Shine Your truth and share Your love through us.

God bless America.

Bless our government.

Guide our President, and all our other leaders.

Give them wisdom.

Give them strength to do what is right.

God bless America.

Bless our military.

Let our military always be used for good.

Protect our sons and daughters, husbands and wives, and neighbors who are serving.

We pray that military force will rarely be needed.

When it is, and when our cause is just, give them victory.

God bless America.

Deliver us from evil.

Keep us safe from temptation.

We’ve been going the wrong way in many ways,

please turn the tide.

God bless America.

Bless those who have worked hard for many years and are now in retirement.

Bless those who are working hard and serving and raising families.

Bless our children.

God bless America.

And make us a blessing to others.

Continue to use us to restrain evil around the world.

Continue to send out missionaries with Your good news from our land.

Let us continue to welcome in the broken and needy.

God bless America.

We know we don’t deserve any of this.

God forgive us our sins that are piled up to the heavens.

Have mercy on us.

Cleanse, change, transform, and renew us according to Your will.

Be glorified in and among us.
